FBMHS Policies & FAQs

Registration

If you are a therapist or supervisor working in a FBMHS agency currently under annual contract with the Center for Family Based Training, you do not have to register for any  of our trainings since all are pre-enrolled as a group.  If you wish to attend one of the FBMHS workshops and you are not one of our contractees, please contact [email protected] to register. Available seats for guests are limited, so advance registration is strongly encouraged. Registration is due 10 days in advance of the workshop. No registrations are accepted on the day of the workshop.

Payment

Once it is confirmed that there is space available and you are registered through [email protected], you must send full payment within 10 days to:

The Center for Family Based Training
1 Bala Avenue, Suite 125
Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004

You may pay via a check drawn on a US bank or through credit card (Visa or Master Card). A $30 fee is charged for each check returned for insufficient funds.

Cancellations

For contracted agencies, once a training seat has been purchased, the agency decides whom to assign the slot to. This lends flexibility in case a therapist leaves the agency or the number of teams is reduced during the contract year. There are no refunds.   For guests registered for a single workshop, fees are refundable only if the program is cancelled.

Persons with Disabilities

Every effort is made to accommodate everyone interested in attending our workshops, regardless of physical abilities. If you are a person with a disability and require special assistance, contact [email protected] specifying special needs and suggested accommodations. Please send this information into the Center for Family Based Training a minimum of 30 in advance of the program. Otherwise we cannot guarantee the availability of accommodations.

Requirements for Continuing Education Documentation

Participants must have paid the tuition fee in full, signed in, attended the entire workshop, completed an online evaluation through the assigned link to Survey Monkey, and signed out in order to receive a certificate. Failure to sign in or out will result in forfeiture of credit for the entire event. For full day clinical case consultation, one must attend both morning and afternoon sessions to receive credit. For workshops, one must attend the full time per individual topic – if the topic includes both morning and afternoon sessions, one must attend both. No exceptions will be made. Partial credit is not available unless an arrangement is made in advance with the director.

Freedom from Potential Conflicts of Interest

None of the faculty at this time has any commercial interests in any of the ideas, programs, or interventions presented in this training.

Where can I find the details on the live workshops?

On the individual workshop description pages, you can read an overview of the workshop, including dates offered, starting and ending time, learning goals, and how many Continuing Education (CE) credits will be awarded.

What is the format of the live trainings? Will I get to interact with the faculty member?

Our workshops are taught using multiple formats, including lecture, videotaped examples of treatment sessions, and group discussion. All trainers invite participants to raise questions and make comments throughout the training. Our case consultations or “clinicals” are organized around two to three case presentations that rotate among agencies throughout the training year.   Videotapes are reviewed, a case summary is provided, there is small group discussion, role plays, and considerable interaction with the faculty.

Who are the trainers? What are their qualifications?

All faculty are highly experienced practicing family therapists. Specific faculty for each workshop are listed on the training’s description page. For greater detail about the qualifications of each faculty member, please see our faculty page.

How much do workshops cost? Can I get a refund?

If you are not accessing workshops as part of your employment with a Pennsylvania Family Based Mental Health Services provider, workshop fees are listed on the workshop description pages. As a general policy, refunds are not provided unless the workshop is cancelled. For additional payment and cancellation terms, please see the Cancellations policy above.

How do I get my certificate?

Certificates will be emailed to you after you have attended the entire training and completed the online course evaluation survey.
