This interactive training affords an opportunity for supervisors to share and discuss challenges and complications they face in supporting the engagement of families in ESFT, with a particular focus on tele-supervision.   Principles and strategies of best practice in tele-supervision is shared, as well as principles and strategies for engaging families in treatment via tele-health. In this workshop, opportunities are created for supervisors to share and discuss what they are doing to keep their supervisory relationships strong and effective. This training is practice-based in that supervisors present current supervisory dilemmas, showing videotape both of their supervisees delivering ESFT telehealth sessions and their tele-supervision of therapists.

Objectives:

As a result of attending this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify three common challenges in-home supervisors encounter in tele-supervision
  2. Name three key strategies for making tele-supervision engaging and more effective
  3. Utilize videotape review to recognize and assess clinical skills related to family engagement and buy-in.
